ENGINE WORK

Ensuring your engine is up to par is an important component of a well-maintained vehicle. But you shouldn't trust your engine repair needs to just anyone! ABCO Diesel Inc. offers affordable engine repair services that are hassle-free and reliable every time. Contact us at 714-997-1955 or send us an email for more details!

Our internal engine services include:

Diesel
Although diesel engines don't require tune-ups and tend to last longer than gasoline engines, they do require regular maintenance. Typical maintenance tasks include:

  • Changing the oil & filter
  • Changing the air filter
  • Changing the fuel filter
  • Bleeding the fuel system
  • Draining the water separators
  • Refilling the urea injection system
You can count on the experts at ABCO Diesel Inc. to help your diesel engine last a long time.

Belts & Hoses
Timing belts and serpentine belts are the most common types of belts in trucks.

A timing belt (also referred to as the camshaft drive belt or the Gilmer belt) is a notched belt that allows the crankshaft to turn the camshaft. Failure of the timing belt would lead to failure of the engine. A loose timing belt could lead to its slipping. When slipped, valves will open at the wrong time putting them at the risk of being struck by the pistons. To avoid this, have your timing belts inspected and serviced regularly.

A drive belt transfers power from the engine to the front mounted accessories such as the cooling fan, power steering pump, air injection pump, the air conditioning compressor and more. Failure of the drive belt means that all the engine accessories it's powering will stop working leading to overheating of the engine. To prevent this from happening, have the belt regularly checked for wear, cracks and stripping.

Hoses (or coolant hoses) are the heater and radiator hoses (upper and lower). The hoses facilitate the flow of coolant between the radiator, engine, and heating block. Old and worn out hoses can easily burst resulting in an overheated engine. To prevent this from happening, have the hoses inspected for cracks.

For belts and hoses maintenance and replacement services, visit ABCO Diesel Inc. in Orange, CA 92867 today. Remember, working belts and hoses will lead to a properly working engine.

Cooling System
Although a truck's engine operates most efficiently at high temperatures, the surplus heat produced during combustion can damage engine parts. To keep the engine safe from the surplus heat, trucks come with a cooling system. The system helps the engine maintain the required temperature and release any surplus heat to the environment.

The cooling system is made up of various parts that work harmoniously. These parts are the radiator, fan, pump, pressure cap, hoses, thermostat, and overflow tank. Failure of any of the parts will result in a poorly functioning cooling system.

To have a properly working cooling system (and thus a healthy engine), consider having periodic servicing of the parts that make up the system. At ABCO Diesel Inc., we can service or replace (if necessary) radiators, fans, water pumps, hoses, thermostats and pressure caps.

Exhaust
An exhaust system is a piping that directs exhaust gases away from the internal combustion engine to the outdoors. A truck's exhaust system is made up of one or more exhaust pipes. An exhaust system can be modified to increase engine power (and performance), reduce pollution, or reduce noise. Also, a properly operating exhaust system is required for operator safety.

To get the most from your truck, you need regular exhaust service. For exhaust repairs, exhaust modification, or exhaust replacement, call 714-997-1955 or visit ABCO Diesel Inc. today.

Water Pumps
A water pump is a vital part of your truck cooling system. A water pump is a centrifugal pump that circulates fluid whenever the engine is running. A belt connected to the engine's crankshaft drives the pump. Water pumps have vanes that fling the fluid to the outside of the pump (using centrifugal force) where it can enter the internal combustion engine. After going through the engine and the cylinder head, the fluid flows back to the water pump.

If the water pump develops a leak or the hub becomes loose and noisy, you need to have it replaced. Faulty water pumps will lead to poor cooling of the internal combustion engine. To have faulty water pumps repaired or replaced, call 714-997-1955 or visit ABCO Diesel Inc. today.

Engine
This is where your truck's combustion of fuel occurs. The ignition, which takes place in a combustion chamber, provides force to the pistons, turbine blades, or a nozzle. The engine provides power that drives your truck. With a poorly operating engine, you will have a poor performing truck. Visit ABCO Diesel Inc. in Orange, CA 92867 today, to have all your engine needs addressed. At ABCO Diesel Inc., we have engine specialists who will make sure you get the most from your truck's engine.

  • -G. Tors

I work in the automotive industry and I happen to know about shops. I have always heard good thing s about Abco Fleet and Diesel so I decided to try them out. I had problems with my Chevy Duramax diesel truck. They diagnosed my diesel truck fast and accurate and gave me a fair estimate. When I picked up my truck it was clean and fixed right. They replaced my egr cooler and replace my injectors. I also had them change the fuel filter and my oil. Their shop is a clean and professional. They have factory scan tools and have lots of huge Snap-on tool boxes filled with Snap-on tools. When I was there I saw Del Worsham (The NHRA drag racing champion) they were dropping his vehicle off for service. I am very satisfied with Abco and I will only bring my diesels here from now on.

  • -Sandra U.

Very informative and knowledgeable about all things diesel! Took the time to explain everything to me.

  • -MaryAnn B.

I went here to get our daughter's brakes done on her car. They did a great job for a reasonable price. Donny, the owner is very knowledgeable about cars, and friends have told me he has fixed problems with their cars that other shops could not figure out.

  • -Brenda V.

Thank you Donny for all the work you did on my car! I just got a smog test, and the guy told me that my emissions are so great that my 10 year old car runs like a brand new one! Wow!!!

  • -Thomas W.

This place is great. Very friendly and willing to help. Ask for John; great person to work with. I will be getting my car serviced here and tires coming up soon!

  • -Missy S.

Great customer service, very friendly, and went above & beyond. My husband & I were renting a uhaul trailer & the running lights weren't working. The owner popped the hood, figured out it was a fuse & that was it.

  • -Mike M.

Great diesel service provider. Always solve any diagnosis problem with my Cummins, Duramax and Ford diesels. Ask for Donnie or Jon, and you will be well taken care of.

  • -Fritz H.

ABCO aka "Old Town Orange Automotive" has worked on all 4 of my vehicles, and I have been very satisfied. They work hard on getting your car back on time. A mechanic you can trust is hard to find these days. These guys have earned my trust. If you are looking for a reliable shop in Orange where you won't get the run-a-round give them a try. P.S. They are a little hard to find as they are behind the industrial buildings on the N.W. side of Collins and Main St.

  • -Ken W.

I don't know of a better place to go with your diesel and get full and knowledgeable answers to your questions along with an explanation of what needs to be done. It didn't matter what was needed, the resources were there. Will be returning with all my vehicles both gas and diesel.

  • -iceb

  • -Shelby T.

Best diesel fleet service I've ever encountered. Every repair done has been the best quality possible and done in a timely manner. I take my whole fleet of trucks here, never had a problem. I wouldn't take my diesel anywhere else.

  • -Julie M.

Good honest service. I'm a mom of 5 and I'm always worried about getting ripped off. I was very comfortable with the customer service here, and they explained every step of the way.

  • -Mike L.

Donny & the crew are great! Awesome service and quality care. They solved a smog related issue on my '98 Chevy Suburban. Runs smoother now.

  • -CCV - ORANGE

Got one of my NPR Diesel trucks Turbo fixed in just a few hours, took great care to make sure both my truck and I were taken care of and back on the road for work with little to no down time. Thank guys. I'll be back with other trucks from my fleet for servicing and tires.

  • -Shirley N.

Stuck in the rain with my car misfiring and burping. Saw the Yelp reviews and pulled in. I was immediately attended to and my car fixed for a very reasonable price. As I'm walking out, they assured me there was a two year warranty on work. If I lived here, these would be my go to mechanics. Really appreciate them helping me out of a bind.
